Product Description

The Action Pad was designed by the Behance team and is based on the Action Method. The four distinct zones on each page provide a flexible template to get the most out of meetings and everyday brainstorm sessions (see usage guidelines below).

Your Passion is your work, treat it well. The Action Pad is made of 80lb Premium Blend paper with a subtle texture (30% post-consumer recycled), printed full bleed, padded, and perforated along with a three-hole punch.

The Action Pad is part of Behance's Action Method product line, the first in a series of Behance projects to help creative professionals boost productivity and make ideas happen. The Action Method was designed to help us push projects forward by organizing our ideas and focusing on action steps. An accordion-style pamphlet on how to practice the Action Method accompanies every product.

Usage Guidelines

Capture Action steps, relentlessly.

During a brainstorm/meeting or on the run, ideas can come and go unless they are captured as action steps.

Tend to your Backburner.

Keep a "Backburner" to catch ideas that may someday become actions. Whether it is an idea for the future or some small errand you want to remember, put it in the backburner and then forget about it.

Think beyond lines and boxes.

The dot grid on the front and back of each page serves as a subtle guide for your notations and sketches.

Preparation and Focus Items.

Plan for meetings beforehand and be sure to address your focus items.

I've been using my Action Pad during meetings for the past few months. It's really made a big difference in my attentiveness during long meeting sessions. Instead of focusing on my officemate's unfortunate choice in footwear, I concentrate on breaking down the topic at hand into realizable steps, which I review post-meeting. The prep section ensures that I'll never forget to make a particular point, even if I momentarily zone out, and the dot grid is essential for visual thinkers like myself. I can sketch to my heart's content, yet it cuts down on the stick figures and checkerboards that too often end up in the margins of my notes.
